02 / FOLLOW THE TRAIL
Know where
your links lead.
Unravel HTTP redirects, check the final response,
and see the canonical URL a page declares.
Where does this link go?
Each HTTP response and redirect destination.
The final URL and response status.
The canonical URL declared in the final HTML.
Our server makes the request. Results can differ by location, user agent or cookies. JavaScript redirects and meta refreshes are not followed.
The journey
Every hop tells a story.

to its final destination.
TWO DIFFERENT SIGNALS
A redirect moves.
A canonical suggests.
An HTTP redirect sends visitors and crawlers to another URL. A canonical link declares a preferred version of a page, but leaves visitors where they are.
This tool follows server redirects and reads the final HTML. It does not follow JavaScript redirects or meta refreshes. It cannot see the canonical chosen by a search engine.
